Introduction

RentalFlow ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Shopify application that provides rental management, date-based booking, and inventory tracking for Shopify merchants. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

What Data We Collect

When you install and use RentalFlow, we collect and store the following data:

Shop Data

• Shop domain and Shopify session information (required for app authentication)
• Product and inventory data (used to track rental availability)
• Order data (used to create and manage rental bookings)

Customer Rental Information

• Delivery and return addresses provided during checkout
• Rental date ranges (start and end dates)
• Zip codes (used for delivery zone validation)

Merchant Configuration

• Delivery zip code lists
• Form field settings and widget configuration
• Calendar feed preferences

How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data solely to:

• Manage rental bookings and track rental inventory availability
• Validate delivery and return addresses against configured zip codes
• Synchronize rental data with your Shopify store
• Generate calendar feeds for rental schedule management
• Display your rental dashboard and order information within the app

Data Storage

All data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL). We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is only accessed by our application to provide the rental management services described above.

We may share data only when required by law or to comply with legal processes.

Your Rights

As a merchant using RentalFlow, you have the right to:

• Access your data: Request a copy of all data we store about your shop and customers.
• Delete your data: Request deletion of all your data. Uninstalling the app will trigger automatic deletion of your session data.
• Export your data: Request an export of your rental bookings and configuration data.
• Correct your data: Request corrections to any inaccurate data we hold.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as the app is installed on your store. When you uninstall the app, your session data is deleted automatically. Rental booking data may be retained for up to 30 days after uninstallation to allow for reinstallation without data loss, after which it is permanently deleted.

GDPR Compliance

RentalFlow complies with GDPR requirements. We implement Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure. If you or your customers are located in the EU, you can exercise your data rights as described above.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
